We woke up to glorious sunshine this morning so our stewards were all happy as they took up their positions on the track, ready for the 9.30am kick-off!
The CCI classes will showjump tomorrow but we have final results for the CIC classes and the Nations Cup competition. The CIC2* class were our trailblazers this morning and Cathal Daniels was clear all the way for a perfect start to the day....
Results update – Sunday
Nations Cup Team Competition
Although each team picked up a few time penalties today, the overnight standings remained unchanged so the British team have done it again! Congratulations to you all and we hope you enjoyed your trip to Ballindenisk!
CICO3*
Izzy Taylor was unlucky to pick up penalties cross country today so yesterday’s chasers each moved up a place, having gone clear cross country. The top 3 finished on the dressage scores, so congratulations to Emilie Chandler (1st – GBR – Gino Royale – 40.6), Sarah Ennis (2nd – IRL – Horseware Stellor Rebound – 43.2) and Nicky Roncoroni (3rd – GBR – Stonedge – 43.3)
CIC2*
A clear round cross country meant that Harold Megahey (Vanir Hello Duca) finished on 48.6, to take the red rosette home. Michelle Kenny went clear to finish in 2nd place, on 48.9, with Eurelia A and Steven Smith also had a lovely clear round to move up a place to 3rd (51.2) with Ringfort Rubicon.
CIC1*
Yesterday’s top four all went clear today so congratulations to our winner, Nicola Ennis, who finished on 43.0, with Killossery Kredit Krunch. The 2nd place honours went to Camilla Speirs and Goldman (45.8.) Sarah Ennis was 3rd (47.3), with Westwinds Karlos and she also took 4th place, with DHI Okey Cokey, so along with her 3* placing it was a very busy day for Sarah!
CICJ1*
Three perfect rounds from yesterday’s leaders, so no change to the standings....well done to Robbie Kearns (1st – IRL – Garrybritt Bonny – 52.1), Arianne Finlay (2nd – IRL – Miss MJ – 54.3) and Ciaran Gaffney (3rd – IRL – Vigo Sun Light – 61.2)
CICP1*
Some unlucky penalties for yesterday’s leader moved Zara Nelson up a place into the top spot, on 47.2, with Millridge Buachaill Bui. Lucy Hancock was a little too fast (!) cross country so she took 3rd place (51.8), with Newton Westie, while 2nd place went to Isabel Persse (51.8) and Mr Blueskies. Well done all!
Good luck to all the CCI competitors jumping tomorrow!
