The Final Day… and Thank You!
Our final day of competition and after an early trot-up, showjumping got underway for the CCI classes early this morning. It was an exciting finish to 4 great days of competition here at Ballindenisk – we’ll sleep for a few days to recover and then start looking forward to September!
It takes a small army to run an International event and we want to send out a huge thank you this evening to ours…
To our officials, stewards and volunteers – thank you for making it a success!

CCI3*
This was a really exciting class to watch today, with only 2 combinations going clear! Oplitas, for Italy’s Giovanni Ugolotti and Dunlough Striker, for Ireland’s Michael Ryan had perfect rounds. Well done Michael! Emily Gilruth had two fences down so dropped from the lead into 2nd place, leaving the red rosette for Giovanni.
1st – Giovanni Ugolotti (ITA) – Oplitas – 53.8
2nd – Emily Gilruth (GBR) – Topwood Beau – 54.1
3rd – Michael Ryan (IRL) – Dunlough Striker – 60.6
CCI2*
Oliver Townend had a great day today, finishing with 1st, 3rd and 5th place in the CCI2* class! Mr. Hiho had a fence in hand but didn’t need it… the top 6 horses all went clear to leave the overnight placings unchanged. Ireland’s Ciaran Glynn took 4th place, finishing on 45.6, with Gee Que.
1st – Oliver Townend (GBR) – Mr. Hiho – 34.2
2nd – Piggy French (GBR) – Obos Cooley – 38.6
3rd – Oliver Townend (GBR) – Note Worthy – 42.7
CCI1*
We could have handed out the rosettes after dressage! The top 3 riders had faultless cross country rounds and although Piggy French picked up 2 time penalties today and Kylie Roddy had a pole down, they had enough in the bank after dressage to keep their 1st and 2nd places. The testing track saw only 3 clear rounds today. Oliver Townend went clear to take the 3rd spot, so has had a very successful week at Ballindenisk! Ireland’s Joseph Murphy had a clear round too and jumped from 8th place to finish 4th today, with Bellscross Starlight.
1st – Piggy French (GBR) – Morswood – 38.8
2nd – Kylie Roddy (GBR) – Guzzi – 44.8
3rd – Oliver Townend (GBR) – Peruising – 45.0
See you in September!
